As a shy high school student in the early 1980s, Peggy Adams came to Makin’ Music still unsure of where she would attend college. During that performance of the show, she sat in a balcony seat in Loyd Auditorium and watched the magic unfold. She shared it was then that she knew she wanted to be on that stage and a part of wonderment of Makin’ Music.
From her time as an alternate hostess to hostess to serving the past 21 years as the Host and Hostess Director, Peggy Adams Weaver has never forgotten that first experience as a high school student— her love for this production and how it changes the lives of young people has remained in her heart from that day forward.
Because she selflessly pours into the young people with whom she guides, directs and encourages and because of her deep affection for this enigma known as Makin’ Music, the Makin’ Music Endowment has been officially renamed the Peggy Weaver Makin’ Music Endowment at the 42nd production of the show.
Through this endowment, and your support, our students can not only dream about the possibilities within Makin’ Music, but access funding to bring those dreams to life…all in the name of Peggy Weaver.
The endowment does not provide for the operational budget of Makin’ Music as those provisions are available through the school and the sale of tickets. Rather, through your generosity, the endowment provides for the funding of new ideas and enhancements to the Makin’ Music experience.
Makin’ Music builds lifelong friendships and memories, fosters leadership and provides a creative outlet for our students to use their talents for His Glory.
